AMURT & AMURTEL are distributing basic supplies to people affected by Hurricane Maria near Anasco town on the western coast of Puerto Rico. We are working in collaboration with the University of Puerto Rico (Mayaguez) and a local organization, Brigada Solidaria del Oeste.
In Puerto Rico there is a refreshing solidarity among people, with citizens helping each other as a natural expression of human goodwill. AMURT & AMURTEL team members have joined this positive movement of social recovery. Our volunteers are a part of the community, going house-to-house to support people as required.
AMURT & AMURTEL will continue to support the recovery of Puerto Ricans into the foreseeable future, and still need your help to continue getting supplies such as mosquito nets, water filters, roofing materials, solar lamps and food to the people in need.

Only the hospital, university and some government offices have electricity in the entire town. Utility poles will have to come from outside the island, so it will take months before electricity is restored to all homes.
AMURT & AMURTEL join hands with local citizens to build a strong relief team.
